Our kosher tour of Cape Town and Kruger is eight days and seven nights, run privately for your own party rather than as a group departure: four nights in Cape Town, Table Mountain and the Cape Peninsula, Shabbat kept at one of the oldest synagogues in the Southern Hemisphere, then three nights at a small lodge in the Thornybush Game Reserve for safari, with the option of a day on the Panorama Route above the Blyde River Canyon. Every meal is Glatt Mehadrin. The tour departs every Wednesday, year-round, and is priced for parties of six or more.

Kashrut

Glatt Mehadrin, in Cape Town and in the bush

Every meal is Glatt Mehadrin, under the supervision of the Johannesburg Beit Din, dairy or parve with meat available on request. In Cape Town, meals are private kosher catering delivered to your hotel. At the safari lodge, the kosher kitchen is privately locked and self-supervised, with a Kosher-trained chef preparing every meal.

Four days in Cape Town, a rest day for Shabbat, then three days of safari and, on the last full day, a choice between the Panorama Route or a private Big 5 reserve.

Day 1 · WednesdayArrive via Johannesburg or direct into Cape Town. Your guide takes you straight to your hotel, 25 minutes away, to rest after the flight. A welcome dinner is served with a personalized gift.Overnight: Cape Town

Day 5 · SundayPerhaps one last walk down the Atlantic Ocean Promenade before breakfast, then a transfer to the airport for the flight to the Kruger area. Your ranger meets you for the 45-minute drive through the bush to the lodge; a light meal on arrival, then a late-afternoon sunset game drive.Overnight: Thornybush

An English-speaking guide travels with you throughout, in Cape Town and on safari. Shabbat falls on Day 4, kept in Cape Town: a walk down the hill on Friday evening for services at one of the oldest synagogues in the Southern Hemisphere, then a private Shabbat dinner at your hotel, and Saturday at leisure with all meals included.

This is a private tour, not a group departure: your own party, on your own dates, priced on a minimum of six travelers to guarantee the booking. Cape Town is full and active, with a fair amount of walking; the safari days are more relaxed, built around morning and afternoon game drives with rest in between.

What the Cape Town and Kruger tour costs

The tour is priced at $6,175 per person, sharing, based on a minimum of six travelers to guarantee the departure. A room of your own is a single supplement of $1,000.

The price covers the hotel and lodge, kosher meals as set out in the itinerary, the domestic flights, airport transfers, English-speaking guides and every day tour listed as included. International flights and travel insurance are extra, as is anything optional.
