Passover and Easter in 2027

Why are Easter and Passover at different times in 2027?

Because they are set by different calendars. Pesach is fixed on the 15th of Nisan in the Hebrew calendar, which follows the moon and adds a leap month seven times in nineteen years to stay in the spring. Western Easter is set by a formula on the civil calendar: the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after March 21. Most years the two fall in the same fortnight; 2027 is one of the years they do not, because 5787 is a Hebrew leap year, so Pesach begins on the evening of April 21 while Western Easter falls on March 28 and Orthodox Easter on May 2.

When is the first Seder in 2027?
