Sukkot

Sukkot Programs: Sukkot in Israel, the Whole Chag in One Hotel

Each autumn Kosher Travelers runs a Sukkot program in Israel: seven nights over the whole chag at David's Harp, above the Sea of Galilee, with the sukkah, a private Beit Knesset, scholars in residence and a program for the children. The 2027 program runs from Friday, October 15 to Friday, October 22, 2027.

Sukkot in Israel

Sukkot programs in Israel: one hotel, the whole chag

Our Sukkot program is the chag from Erev Chag to Hoshana Rabba under one roof: you unpack once, the sukkah, the Beit Knesset and the dining room are in the hotel, and the Sea of Galilee is below you. David and Chana Walles host.

The 2026 program ran from Friday, September 25 to Friday, October 2; the 2027 program runs from Friday, October 15 to Friday, October 22, seven nights. The page has the full detail, the hotel, the scholars and the terms.

The program

What a Sukkot program is, and who it suits

A Sukkot program takes the whole of the chag off your hands: the room, the sukkah, the meals of Yom Tov and Shabbat, the davening and the learning are all in the hotel, so the days between are yours.

In 2026 that meant full board on Shabbat and Chag and half board on Chol Hamoed, with afternoon tea in the lounge, tefillot in a private Beit Knesset in Nusach Ashkenaz with machzorim supplied, shiurim and talks by two scholars in residence, and day clubs for children and teens. David's Harp is a new hotel built in the shape of a harp, near Kfar Nahum and Capernaum. From the lobby, the pool and the balcony of each room the view reaches across the lake to the Golan Heights.

It suits families who want the whole chag in one place, and guests who want a program with learning at its center. Guests come from abroad and from across Israel; there are no religious requirements to join, and we never ask about your observance. Sukkot Programs at David's Harp, Kinneret

Yom Tov is in the hotel. Chol Hamoed is for the Galilee and the Golan, and the trips are optional and self-drive.

  • Three easy walks start at the hotel: the shoreline, the Kfar Nahum promenade toward Capernaum, and a loop of the grounds that stays inside the eruv for Shabbat and Yom Tov
  • Hikes and water: the Banias, Tel Dan, the Mount Arbel lookout, Nahal Yehudiya and the Hexagon Pool, rafting or kayaking on the Jordan, and a sunset cruise on the Kinneret
  • History: Tzfat, Meron and Tiberias, the Talmudic village at Katzrin, Gamla, Tzippori, Capernaum and Korazim
  • For a hot or rainy day: the Hamat Gader hot springs, wineries on the Golan Heights, and the hotel's spa
