TUESDAY DEC. 24, 2019 EUROPE - CASABLANCA

Following our arrival at the airport, we arrive in the economic and commercial capital of Morocco. We organize ourselves at the hotel and come back for a panoramic visit of the main sites of Casablanca. Sites visited: the esplanade of the Hassan II Mosque (for those interested, the entry of the mosque is not free), the Place Mohamed V, the medina (old city), the Habous and Anfa districts, the Royal Palace, shopping in the medina and the Jewish Mellah (Jewish Quarter), and Jewish Museum

WEDNESDAY DEC. 25, 2019 CASABLANCA - MARRAKECH

We leave Casablanca and drive towards Marrakech. “The Red City” and “the Pearl of the South» are just some of the names given to the most beautiful city of Morocco, which extends to the foot of the Atlas Mountains. En route, we visit the Waterfalls of Ouzoud. This is a great spot for a short hike. Then continue to the Oasis of Bin el Quidan, hidden in the heart of Berber territory in the Atlas Mountains. We will enjoy a boat ride on the lake. Then we will make our way to Marrakech for dinner and our hotel for the next 5 nights.

THURSDAY DECEMBER 26. ESSAOUIRA

Excursion to the town of Essaouira, an old fort and shipping port located within 2 hours drive from Marrakech and considered one of the most popular excursions out of the busy and bustling Marrakech. We will visit the Jewish Cemetery and the Tomb of Rabbi Pinto before visiting the famous and still in use Synagogue of the city. We will have a chance to visit the Old Port and walk in the small streets of the Old City. On our way back to Marrakech we will visit the village of Chichaoua and learn about the famous Moroccan Argan oil and visit a local Berber market. Time permitting, we will have a short visit to the famous Yves Saint Laurent Museum and Gardens in Marrakech before dinner.

FRIDAY DEC. 27, 2019 - CAMEL RIDES AND MARRAKECH

Climb aboard a desert camel on this fascinating tour through the incredible Palm Grove of Marrakech. Trek through authentic villages and an oasis-like landscape. Enjoy a delicious glass of mint tea in an authentic Berber home. On our return to Marrakech, we will glimpse the local rural life. In Marrakech, we will tour the Old City and the New City. We will walk in the gardens of Menara, see the city center and its markets, visit Gueliz in the New City, enter a Berber pharmacy and browse the New City. We will wander on the Djemaa El Fna square, among food stalls, jugglers, snake charmers, monkey trainers, concertmasters and other curiosities. We then return to our hotel to prepare for Shabbat.

SATURDAY DEC. 28, 2019 SHABBAT IN MARRAKECH

Free day for walks through the city. In the evening: organized outing to attend an evening of typical Berber folklore, with troupes of dancers, groups of singers, acrobatics on horseback, etc.

SUNDAY DEC. 29, 2019 MARRAKECH - VALLEY OF OURIKA - MARRAKECH

In the morning, we leave Marrakech for the green valley of Ourika, in the Atlas Mountains, where the Moroccans relax in summer. We will begin with a visit to the station of Oukaimden, 3200m. above sea level and the highest ski resort in North Africa. We will then continue our tour to the Ourika valley. The Ourika Valley lies between the foothills of the Atlas Mountains and is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved valleys in Morocco. We will end the day with a hike in the beautiful waterfalls of Setti Fatma village before continuing back to Marrakech, where you can relax or, if you want, you can return to Djemaa El Fna.

MONDAY DEC. 30, 2019 MARRAKECH - BNE MELLAL - FEZ

This morning we leave Marrakech towards Fez. On the way, we will admire the sources of Ain Asserdoun. We continue towards the city of Ifrane, built by the French. We will see the famous statue in town and the storks nesting on the tiled roofs. From there, we will continue for 70 km to Fez, the cultural and religious city of Morocco, then transfer to the hotel and dinner. In the evening: organized outing to attend a typical Fez folklore show.

TUESDAY DEC. 31, 2019 FEZ

This day will be dedicated to Fez, religious and cultural capital of Morocco, with many religious buildings, mosques and madrassas. In the heart of the city is the medina, where the house of Maimonides is located. The medina is divided between the different guilds of craftsmen: painters, blacksmiths and tanners. Visit the Jewish Quarter (the Mellah), and the well-kept Jewish cemetery. Walk through the maze of alleys to see carpenters and potters at work. Sites visited: Panorama of Fez seen from Borj, the old Jewish cemetery and the Jewish quarter, the medina, the house of Maimonides, various craftsmen’s workshops: copper smith, tannery, caftan workshop, etc.

WEDNESDAY JAN. 1, 2020 FEZ -OUAZZANE - MEKHNÈS - RABAT - CASABLANCA.

This morning on our way to Mekhnes, we will stop in Ouazzane to visit the burial site of the tzadik, Rabbi Amram Ben Diwan. We will then continue to Mekhnes, former capital of King Moulay Ismaïl ben Chérif of the Alaouite dynasty. There, we will visit the Bab Mansour, the esplanade in ruins, and the picturesque covered market. We will follow the panoramic route along the ramparts of the city and the Adgal basin. From there, we continue our route towards Rabat, on the Atlantic coast, where we will see the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum where the kings Mohammed V and Hassan II rest and the esplanade of the Royal Palace. After visiting Rabat, we will return to Casablanca, where we will spend the night.

THURSDAY JAN. 2, 2020 CASABLANCA - DEPARTURE

After breakfast, we leave the Casablanca hotel and go to Mohammed V airport.

A $500 USD Deposit per person must be received at the time of booking in order to confirm your reservation. Payment in full is due 90 days before departure. A minimum number of participants are required to operate tour dates. If a minimum number has not been reached prior to tour departure and the tour is cancelled you will receive a FULL refund.

  • 60-90 days prior to departure: $500 + $100 per passenger
  • 30-60 days prior to departure: $1,000 + $100 per passenger
