Dr. Tal Becker is a Senior Fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute, where he leads educational initiatives on Israel and the Jewish world, and is Counsel at Honigman LLP and a consultant on geopolitics, Middle East affairs, and peace and security policy. Widely regarded as one of Israel’s leading policy experts, Tal served until recently as Legal Adviser to Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as a senior member of Israel’s peace negotiation team. He represented Israel before the International Court of Justice and played a key role in negotiating and drafting the Abraham Accords between Israel, the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco. He has more than two decades of experience at the forefront of Israel’s diplomatic, legal and policy challenges, including matters before the United Nations and international legal bodies. Dr. Becker earned his doctorate from Columbia University and is the recipient of numerous honours, including the Rabin Peace Prize and the Guggenheim Prize for his book Terrorism and the State. He has previously served as a Senior Fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, Counsel to Israel’s UN Mission in New York, and Senior Policy Adviser to Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
